Autumn 2009 Part 3

October 20th

Saw a wary grizzly again at Sierra Charlie.

October 24th

7.30am. Fairly young bear just north of Echo moving upstream. Watched him for a while.

In the afternoon we saw a Mum with 2 cubs of the year. She was very wary and only came out when it was beginning to get dark.

October 26th

Watched a young grizzly just south of Echo in the snow and the mist for about an hour and a half. Beautiful.

October 29th

Watched a young bear by Delta Echo for at least half an hour (see photo above.) He moved around a lot turning over stones and looking for fish caught up on snags.

October 30th

Great viewing of a youngish bear at Sierra Charlie. First we watched him near the top and then further down by the bridge. He was fishing and wandering around. When others arrived at first he was spooked but then he resumed fishing.

October 31st

Some nice viewing of Rapid bear in his usual spot from the raft. Gillian's guests saw a lynx, the first of the season. Last day of season. Great guests. More next year.
